Clear answers. No technical detours.

Install Lead Ledger, connect your forms, verify your first tracked lead, and read every free and Pro feature in one place.

01 / Quick start

Install and see your first lead

In WordPress admin, open Plugins → Add New and search for “Local Lift Lead Ledger.” Install, activate, and follow the three-step wizard for business type, forms, and alerts.

The wizard walks you through picking a business type (HVAC, plumbing, dental, and more), connecting your contact forms or copying the native shortcode, and setting your first alert email.

Expected setup time: about ten minutes

Send a test form submission when setup completes. It should appear in Lead Ledger → Leads and trigger an instant email alert. If no real leads arrive within 15 minutes, sample data may appear for 24 hours so you can explore the dashboard.

02 / Forms

Connect your existing contact forms

Free tracks Contact Form 7, WPForms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Elementor Pro Forms, Divi Contact Form, and Beaver Builder Contact Form with no connection limit. Use the native [lead_ledger_form] shortcode on as many pages as you need.

Each supported plugin maps name, email, phone, and message fields automatically. Duplicate submissions with the same phone or email within five minutes count as one lead.

Lead Ledger Pro adds Gravity Forms, a Gutenberg block, and partial submission capture on native forms.

Free native form fields

Name, email, phone, message, and a required privacy consent checkbox. At least email or phone is required to submit.

Pro native form extras

Service type dropdown, city/ZIP, TCPA SMS opt-in checkbox, and partial submission capture when visitors enter email or phone but leave before submitting.

Divi & Beaver Builder (1.4.0+)

Native Divi Contact Form and Beaver Builder Contact Form modules are discovered site-wide on free and Pro. Beaver Builder premium only — not BB Lite.

03 / Calls

Track click-to-call actions

Lead Ledger listens for clicks on standard tel: links on your frontend. It records the page URL, referrer, device type, and timestamp — but it does not provision dynamic phone numbers or record conversations.

This is intentional: Lead Ledger measures phone intent from your website, not call-center analytics. Disclose click tracking in your privacy policy if required in your region.

04 / Dashboard

Read your free-tier lead signals

The free dashboard answers one question: is my website generating leads? You get summary cards for leads this week, leads this month, and phone clicks this week.

30-day activity chart

Forms vs phone clicks over the last 30 days. Free does not include a custom date picker.

Traffic funnel chart

When page views are enabled under Settings → General, see daily page views, contacts (forms + phone clicks), and views with no contact.

Top pages & sources

Top five pages by lead count and top five referrer domains (for example google.com). Classified breakdowns like Google Ads vs Organic are Pro-only.

Recent leads & menu badge

The dashboard shows your ten most recent leads. A badge on the Lead Ledger admin menu shows how many new leads need attention.

Free teasers (upgrade prompts)

Free shows counts only for partial submissions and leak scan results — not full contact details or fix suggestions. CSV export and lead status changes also prompt an upgrade.

05 / Privacy

Control what is collected

Lead data stays in your WordPress database on your own server. Lead Ledger does not send lead records to an external CRM by default.

Page-view counts are disabled by default and require administrator opt-in from Settings or the setup wizard. Enable page views if you want leak detection (Pro) or page-performance insights.

Free retains leads for 90 days with a dashboard notice before auto-purge. Pro can set 30, 90, 365 days, or unlimited retention. Export or delete individual leads as JSON for GDPR requests.

06 / Requirements

System requirements

Lead Ledger runs on your WordPress site. Connect whichever supported form plugin you already use — you do not need every integration below.

  • WordPress 6.0 or newer (tested up to 7.1)
  • PHP 7.4 or newer
  • GPLv2 or later

Supported form plugins (free)

Contact Form 7, WPForms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Elementor Pro Forms, Divi Contact Form, and Beaver Builder Contact Form (Beaver Builder premium — not BB Lite). Also the native [lead_ledger_form] shortcode. Unlimited connections on the free plan.

Form plugins & blocks (Pro)

Everything on free, plus Gravity Forms integration and a Gutenberg block for native forms.

Phone tracking

No extra plugin required. Lead Ledger tracks click-to-call (tel:) links site-wide on free and Pro.

Optional Pro integrations

Twilio account for SMS alerts (you provide credentials) and HTTPS webhook endpoints for Slack or Zapier.

07 / Pro overview

What Lead Ledger Pro adds

Lead Ledger Pro is for businesses that need to respond faster, recover abandoned forms, and know which pages and campaigns actually produce jobs.

Pro requires an annual license from wplocalliftledger.com (keys start with LLLED-). Activate under Lead Ledger → Settings → License. If the license server is temporarily unreachable, a 72-hour grace period applies after your last successful check.

  • Gravity Forms + Gutenberg block
  • Partial submission capture & SMS alerts (BYO Twilio)
  • Classified sources, UTMs, click IDs & first/last-touch reports
  • Leak fix loop + Action Brief + pipeline & won revenue
  • Scheduled job dates + workflow through Won/Lost
  • Follow-up reminders, SLA nudges & CSV export
  • PDF weekly/monthly emails · custom date ranges · 10 currencies
  • Up to 5 emails · route any detected form · Slack & Zapier webhooks
  • Cloud lead archive — CSV snapshots to Google Drive or Dropbox
Pro vs free in one sentence

Free tells you whether your site is generating leads. Pro tells you how to get more — and helps you never miss one worth paying for.

08 / Pro · Lead capture

Gravity Forms, Gutenberg, and partial recovery

Gravity Forms integration

Pro-only. Connects via gform_after_submission with field mapping overrides per form.

Divi & Beaver Builder forms

Track native builder contact forms without CF7. UTM and click IDs are injected into Divi and Beaver submissions automatically.

Gutenberg block

Insert the lead-ledger/form block in the block editor instead of pasting a shortcode.

Partial submission capture

On native Lead Ledger forms only: saves available email or phone when a visitor blurs a field, switches tabs, or closes the page — before they click Submit. Requires consent checkbox. Duplicates within five minutes are suppressed.

Advanced native form fields

Service type dropdown, city/ZIP, and TCPA SMS opt-in on native forms when Pro is active.

09 / Pro · Attribution

Know where every lead came from

Classified sources

Automatic labels such as Google Ads, Google Organic, Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, Direct, Referral, and Other — instead of raw referrer domains only.

UTM campaign tracking

Stores utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, and utm_term on each lead. Dashboard includes a campaign performance table.

Click IDs

Captures gclid, fbclid, and msclkid when present in the landing URL for paid campaign correlation.

Landing + converting page

Records the first page the visitor landed on and the page where they submitted a form or clicked your phone number.

First-touch / last-touch toggle

Choose whether reports, exports, and webhooks credit the landing page (first touch) or the converting page (last touch).

10 / Pro · Dashboard & reports

Deeper reporting and owner-friendly rollups

Custom date range

Presets for 7, 30, and 90 days plus a custom range up to 365 days.

Top 20 pages

See more of your site map by lead volume compared to the free top-five list.

Estimated pipeline value

Open leads in New or Contacted status multiplied by your average job value setting.

Won revenue card

Tracks actual closed revenue when you mark leads Won and optionally enter a dollar amount.

Partial leads widget

Full list with contact details and links — not just a count teaser.

PDF email reports

Automated weekly (Monday) and monthly (1st of month) PDF summaries emailed to your team, including leak highlights and won revenue when applicable.

Daily or weekly digest

Pro can send a branded HTML digest daily or weekly with leak highlights, recent wins, SLA counts, pipeline/won revenue, and scheduled job totals when applicable.

Dashboard Action Brief (1.4.2+)

A prioritized “Do this first” panel on the dashboard: unanswered SLA leads, overdue follow-ups, top leaks, page-view onboarding, recent wins, and jobs scheduled today or this week.

Jobs today / this week (1.5.0+)

Stat cards and Action Brief rows when Pro leads have a scheduled visit date — a morning glance at booked work without opening the full list.

First leak scan on setup

When you finish the wizard or enable page views, Lead Ledger runs an initial leak scan so Pro owners see actionable results faster.

11 / Pro · Leak report

Find pages and sources that waste traffic

The Leak Report requires page-view collection to be enabled. Free shows only how many potential leaks were detected; Pro opens the full report at Lead Ledger → Leak Report.

Flagged-leaks chart

Top flagged pages or campaigns with views vs contacts bars — capped at five with an “N of M” footnote. Falls back to issue-type counts when only form errors are flagged.

Leak fix loop (1.4.1+)

Impact score prioritization, paginated action list, estimated opportunity when average job value is set, Track my fix baselines, Improved vs Still leaking badges, and Recent wins for 14 days.

Zero-lead page

Pages with 20+ views and zero leads in 30 days. Suggested fix: add a stronger CTA, shorten the form, or add a phone number.

Form errors

Integration submission failures logged from connected form plugins. Suggested fix: check for plugin conflicts.

Mobile phone gap

High mobile traffic but zero tel: clicks. Suggested fix: add a sticky call button.

Source waste

Traffic from a source with zero leads. Suggested fix: review ad creative or landing page.

Page performance table

Exact URL, 30-day views, mobile views, form leads, phone clicks, severity, explanation, and suggested fix — with pagination for large sites.

12 / Pro · Workflow & export

Work leads from first touch to closed job

Lead status workflow

Move leads through New → Contacted → Scheduled → Won → Lost with filters and bulk status updates.

Scheduled job date (1.5.0+)

When a customer agrees to a visit, set status Scheduled and a Scheduled for date. Separate from follow-up reminders (which mean “chase this lead”). List filters include Scheduled today and Scheduled this week.

Internal notes

Up to 5,000 characters per lead, included in CSV export.

Won/lost outcome + revenue

Required outcome reason when closing a lead as Won or Lost. Optional revenue field on Won feeds dashboard and PDF rollups.

Follow-up reminders

Set a due date on open leads. Daily email reminders and list/dashboard filters for overdue follow-ups.

Unanswered SLA nudge

Email (and optional SMS) when New leads sit untouched past your threshold.

Lead quality (enhanced)

Spam & vendor detection auto-classifies each submission as lead, suspicious (possible vendor pitch), or spam — separate from sales status. Suspicious entries still alert with a Review subject line; spam is saved but silences instant email, SMS, and webhooks. Pro adds strict/balanced/relaxed sensitivity, custom block phrases, and bulk spam purge.

CSV bulk export

Export all or filtered leads with UTF-8 BOM. Columns include UTM fields, status, scheduled date, outcome, revenue, notes, landing page, and more.

13 / Pro · Cloud archive

Back up leads to Google Drive or Dropbox

Lead Ledger Pro can upload CSV snapshot files to your Google Drive or Dropbox account. This is file upload only — not Google Sheets and not live row-by-row sync. CSV columns match Leads → Export CSV (UTF-8 BOM for Excel).

Configure under Lead Ledger → Settings → Pro → Cloud lead archive. You create your own Google or Dropbox OAuth app and connect it to your site — Lead Ledger does not store your leads on our servers.

When uploads run

Weekly: full snapshot every Sunday at 6:30 AM site time. Pre-purge: leads about to expire under your retention setting, uploaded before the daily purge. Manual: click Archive now in settings for an immediate test upload.

File names

lead-ledger-archive-YYYY-MM-DD-weekly.csv, lead-ledger-archive-YYYY-MM-DD-pre-purge.csv, and lead-ledger-archive-YYYY-MM-DD-manual.csv.

Google Drive setup

1) In Google Cloud Console, create a project and OAuth client ID (Web application). 2) Add the redirect URI shown in Lead Ledger settings (under Cloud lead archive → Google Drive). 3) Paste Client ID and Client secret into Lead Ledger, save, then click Connect Google Drive. 4) Optional: paste a Drive folder ID from the URL after /folders/ — leave empty for Drive root. Google scope is drive.file (files created by the app only).

Dropbox setup

1) In the Dropbox App Console, create an app with Scoped access. Choose Full Dropbox (recommended) or App folder. Enable files.content.write permission. 2) Copy App key and App secret into Lead Ledger settings. 3) Add the redirect URI shown in settings. 4) Save, then click Connect Dropbox. 5) Set folder path (default /Lead Ledger).

After a successful connect

Settings shows Connected as your@email.com with the connection date. Access tokens refresh automatically. Use Archive now to verify the first upload. When retention is not unlimited, the dashboard shows a 10-day heads-up before purge — pre-purge archive runs so expiring rows are uploaded first.

Troubleshooting

Redirect URI mismatch: copy the exact URI from Lead Ledger settings into Google or Dropbox — no trailing slash differences. Not connected: enter OAuth credentials, save settings, then connect (not before save). Stale connection: if you change Client ID/secret or revoke access in Google/Dropbox, reconnect. Upload errors: check Last error in settings, confirm cron/Action Scheduler runs on your host, and try Archive now. Wrong folder: verify Drive folder ID or Dropbox path. Still stuck? Export CSV manually from Leads while you troubleshoot.

Not the same as Google Sheets sync

Cloud archive uploads CSV files on a schedule. For live CRM or spreadsheet automation, use Pro webhooks with Zapier instead.

14 / Pro · Alerts & integrations

Reach your team wherever they work

Up to 5 email recipients

One primary plus four additional addresses for instant lead alerts.

Email routing rules

Up to 10 rules route instant alerts by any detected form ID (including forms not yet connected), tel: phone clicks, or native service type. First match wins.

SMS alerts (BYO Twilio)

Owner mobile alerts only — not two-way texting to leads. You provide Account SID, Auth Token, and from-number. Includes quiet hours, templates for form/call/partial events, and a 200 messages/month cap.

Slack incoming webhooks

Post formatted lead alerts to hooks.slack.com endpoints.

Generic HTTPS webhooks

POST JSON on lead_created and status_updated events. Payload includes scheduled date, quality, service type, UTM fields, and more. Optional HMAC signature, 5xx retry, and Zapier-ready fields. Up to 3 Slack + webhook endpoints combined.

15 / Pro · License & settings

Activate and configure Pro

License activation

Go to Lead Ledger → Settings → License. Enter your LLLED- key from wplocalliftledger.com. Deactivate before moving to a new domain.

Display currency

Settings → Pro → Currency supports USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, NZD, MXN, INR, PHP, and ZAR for pipeline value, leak estimates, PDF reports, and webhooks.

Average job value

Powers the estimated pipeline value card on the dashboard.

Bundled Spanish (es_ES)

Pro includes a bundled Spanish admin translation. Set your site language to Spanish to use it.

Email support

Pro customers receive email support with a 48-hour response target.
